Many people probably don’t realize that the CEO of Twitter is not Musk, but Linda Yaccarino, who comes from the world of advertising and media sales.
The new CEO doesn’t have it easy. The startup atmosphere that Musk is trying to introduce into what is, to put it mildly, a mature, if not telegram blast somewhat incumbent company, certainly poses a lot of challenges for someone whose background is the world of mass media and airtime trading.
Musk wanted to save Twitter’s falling revenues this way (is anyone else using the new name – X?). However, it seems to me that this is not an outstanding match for this position. The same is true in the context of choosing Paris Hilton as a character who is supposed to face the new functions of the platform and help convince users to live shopping.
I like Twitter and I understand that playing to a user profile like mine won’t allow them to return to the top league of social media, but to immediately reach for Paris Hilton? Maybe I don’t understand the American spirit and the idea will be a hit.

X will share revenue with Paris Hilton
This is the first such collaboration in which Elon Musk will share revenue with an influencer. Or rather, an influencer, because it is Paris Hilton and her media company 11:11. Together with X, they will collaborate on creating 4 original video programs, in which we will be able to… buy live. In response to a journalist’s question whether the agreement with Hilton is different from the existing creator payout program, Musk himself replied that it is a “different partnership”. The agreement will be valid for two years. Hilton also wants to continue developing activities within the hashtag, which he has been promoting since 2019, #sliving.
